Due to a very limited interest the Board has decided to discontinue the scheduled time for Zoom Sewing and encourage all members to join the Zoom Sewing Room anytime you like.
If you find yourself with a day or a morning, afternoon, or evening to sew, let others know and get on the Zoom link found on the Members Only page of the website and have an Impromptu Sew Together. You can shout out to a group of friends via the Facebook Group or Messenger or in a group text or email.
You also may find someone online already if you just login to the Zoom link.
23-24 Sew Along
We are super excited to see everyone for this year's sew along. Click below to find an overview and templates for the sew along. The overview contains links to the videos and templates if you choose to buy them from MSQC.
Although the monthly Zoom Sew-Along isn't taking place, the patterns, videos, templates, and links are still available at the link below.
HOSPICE: UTQG has an ongoing community service project providing quilts for our local hospice centers. Making the quilts is a team effort shared by our members.
Community service provides kits from our donated fabric. Members sew quilt tops. Then tops, batting, and backing are assembled and other members quilt them. Then as the process continues, still other members add binding and a label.
The quilts are approximately 40" X 60" but can vary in size.
In the past two years we have provided between 100-150 quilts per year.
SPECIAL PROJECT: We are collecting wall hangings that you may have made but no longer want. These will be used to decorate the family respite room at the hospital. If you have any you would like to donate, be sure they have a sleeve and bring them to the November meeting.
Uncommon Threads Quilt Guild plans an annual retreat at St. Columba Retreat Center in Germantown, TN. It is the 2nd weekend in November and runs from Friday to Sunday with a pre-retreat day on Thursday and post-retreat day on Monday that are extra.
The retreat is open to all interested quilters with preference and cost advantages given to guild members.
