Membership Information
We're always looking for new members! We meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month, and you're invited to attend two meetings as a non-member. After that, if you want to keep coming, you need to join! Our meetings are held at the Germantown United Methodist Church, , 2331 South Germantown Road, Germantown, TN.
Adult membership fees are $25 per year. Youth memberships are available for all individuals age 12 - 17. The membership table will be open at guild meetings from 6:15 to 8:00 pm. Click Here to download the membership form (pdf).
You'll want to stop at the membership table to sign in, leave a fat quarter for the FQ drawing, enter the doorprize drawing if you're wearing your nametag, and see what other activities (workshops, classes, shoebox quilts, round robins, quilting sisters) you could sign up for!
There's sometimes a 15 minute mini-class at 6:15 pm, and a little time to settle in and socialize before each official meeting starts. The mini-class touches on some facet of quiltmaking - it's just long enough to pick up a tip or a suggestion or two, but not get you overloaded with too much!
After the official guild business is over, we have great programs offered every meeting. We're proud to present nationally known speakers at some meetings, as well as letting our own talented members present a variety of information in the fields of their own expertise. MY favorite part of each meeting is 'Sew and Tell.' People bring things they've been working on, sometimes it's individual blocks, a completed quilt top, or a finished quilt, pillows, placemats, table runners. We have members that use quilting techniques in things to wear, like dresses, vests, jackets; we're also treated to historical quilts, etc.
As a member, you'll get a monthly newsletter, "Thread Lines," that's chock full of info on everything that's happening in the guild. You'll find notices of meetings, workshops, other quilt or fabric related activities, block of the month, the fat quarter theme, a hint of what the next month's mini-class will be, and more!
We also have a large, growing lending library of quilt books and videos for our members. It's a great way to preview a book you might be thinking of adding to your own collection.
Please feel free to bring a snack or drink to share at our meetings... and many members also bring some hand sewing or applique to work on during the meeting. We're not snobby, so knitting, tatting, smocking, crochet, and rug hooking are all welcome, too!
Members are encouraged to attend our quilt retreat, annually held in November. There's classes to sign up for, techniques to learn, good food, and fun! The event lasts all weekend, and you're invited to bring your sewing machine, spend the entire three days and two nights at the Conference Center, or just come for the day.

We don't prohibit membership on the basis of race, sex, ethnic background, age, religion, or place of residence.

Everyone's Welcome!
