It's July and we may not enjoy the heat and sunshine, but our flowers sure do. How about designing your own flower block for our block of the month? |

I gave the 3 x 6½ inch dark green fabric out at the June guild meeting. You'll need to provide a piece of light blue solid or hand dyed for the background. Flowers can be any variation of red, orange, yellow, pink, or purple. Seam allowances are included. Your finished block will be 6 by 12. |

Now, design your flower and stem, or find one online. Your block can be pieced, paper pieced, or applique, or any mixture of techniques. If applique, it can be fused, fused and sewn, needleturned, etc. Get creative! |

Here's a couple of flowers I was playing with in EQ, a daisy type and a tulip. A grandmother's flower garden hexagon shaped flower might also look nice... or a lily with pointed petals... or a rounded posy type from the 60's. What kind of flower are YOU going to make? |
