Strippy Star and Starflower

Two 12 inch blocks for the next two months.

We're getting close to done! If you'll notice in the quilt design to the left, I've been changing the layout slightly to reflect the completely designed blocks.

I've made a pdf for each of the blocks, see below.

Here's the block. It finishes at 12 inches, so when you finish paper piecing it, trim it to 12½ inches.

The flowers can all be the same color, three different colors, or even each petal a different color.

I'll applique three narrow bias strips for stems after I finish paper piecing the block.

For the setting triangles, where I have the mauve-pink, cut two 7 inch squares. Cut these two squares on the diagonal, to make 4 setting triangles.


Please remember when you print a pdf that you need to set page scaling to none, or UNCHECK fit to page, however your computer offers that choice.

The strippy star is also a 12 inch block. It's paper pieced too. Trim it to 12½ inches when you're done sewing it.
